The Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence:
-
Strengthens domestic violence shelters and programs throughout Colorado
We offer training and expert advice to domestic violence programs that serve survivors of domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. We establish and share best practices based on the principles of safety and empowerment of survivors.
-
Creates change through our collective voice
The Coalition works to break the silence surrounding domestic violence. We actively engage in policy advocacy with decision-makers and work to educate elected officials, state and local government employees and other public agencies about domestic violence. The Coalition actively participates on numerous statewide boards and committees to influence initiatives that affect survivors in Colorado.
-
Engages Colorado in our work to end domestic violence
The Coalition works in partnership with communities throughout Colorado to increase Coloradans' awareness and understanding of domestic violence.
Our Philosophy
Our member programs support, involve and include domestic violence victims and survivors of all racial, social, ethnic, religious, and economic groups, ages, sexual orientations and gender identities, and individuals with disabilities. We oppose the use of violence as a means of control. We support equality in relationships and the concept of helping women assume power over their own lives.
Our Leadership
Leadership for the coalition is provided by a Board of Directors elected to represent the voice of this grassroots movement from all areas of Colorado.
